Are you a freelancer or an employee?

Translate into English | 16. 10. 2008 | Kategorie: Lotus Notes | Komentáře: 10

From Paul's quest about your work environment I got the impression that about 50% of us works as a freelancer and I'm not sure if it is true.

My question is easy - do you work as a freelancer or are you an employee? And if you work as a freelancer do you really have a lot of different projects or at the end do you work for one company anyway? And do you work more like a developer or an administrator?

Ah you forgot an important part of the population.

Some of us run their own business, which makes them neither ;)

I'm a business owner with a couple of employees - we're all developers or admins (and I claim to be both!). Multiple clients but two main ones from which we get constant work.

I'm an employee, but I'm very lazy. Maybe, I am the laziest workaholic in the World. That's probably the reason, I'm not working like an administrator or a developer, but my job title is "IT manager". What does it mean - what I've been really doing at the moment? I've been changing internal mail routing among few companies using LN, I've been rewritting some web pages from php and MySQL to LN databases (I've never seen php or MySQL before, but it is quite easy to create an DB in LN and format documents for web browsing using existing CSS file), I'm doing changes of some procedures in assets evidence with few deparments and I'm trying to change some communication stereotypes and improve internal processes in the company, where I am employed.

Employee, more developer than admin. But I think about the change ...

One more interesting quetion (for me). Is there any woman working as admin or developer except me? :-)
